Comparing produced water PAM prices requires two separate questions: how much polymer is in the purchased product, and how much of that product actually meets the site's treatment objective? A lower delivered price per tonne can still produce a higher operating cost. Conversely, a higher active-content product is not automatically the best choice if its preparation requirements do not fit the facility.
Request a defined active-content basis
Ask each bidder to identify commercial product mass, active-polymer fraction, moisture or carrier content, and the method supporting those values. Do not assume that every dry powder is completely active or that every liquid has the same density. A solids result and an active-polymer result may not describe the same property. The quotation should state which value is contractual and which is only typical.
For a purely illustrative comparison, a delivered product priced at 2.00 currency units per kilogram with a stated active fraction of 0.40 costs 5.00 units per kilogram of active material. A second product at 3.00 per kilogram and 0.90 active costs about 3.33 per active kilogram. These are arithmetic examples, not market prices, product specifications or evidence that either grade will work in produced water.
Separate chemical price from treatment cost
Use field-tested consumption at the required water and solids quality. Multiply commercial kilograms consumed by the delivered price, then add relevant preparation, packaging, freight and handling costs. Record sludge disposal and filter-cleaning changes separately so that projected savings can be audited. If the two trials treated different feed quality, postpone the commercial ranking.
The Xinqi manufacturer enquiry can request grade-specific quotation details, while polyacrylamide supplier information helps frame the required documents. Neither a category page nor a headline price establishes a binding active-content guarantee.
Check equipment and cash tied up in stock
A concentrated powder may require a larger maturation tank or additional operator time. An emulsion may need an inversion unit and tote handling. Include those costs only where they actually arise; avoid giving either form an automatic advantage. Ask whether the proposed order leaves unused inventory beyond the product's stated storage period.
Approve one comparable commercial sheet
Record currency, net quantity, packaging, delivery location, tax treatment, payment terms and quotation validity alongside the technical acceptance result. Have operations confirm the dose basis before procurement calculates annual demand. This prevents a neatly formatted price comparison from hiding incompatible quantities or a treatment program that has never been demonstrated on the buyer's water.
Technical checks before the order
Use the existing How to Calculate Polymer Cost per 1,000 Barrels of Produced Water guidance to assemble the operating data for this purchase. Include the accepted trial conditions and unresolved questions in your product enquiry, so the proposed supply can be reviewed against the actual facility requirements.
